Why take this action?
Havant Borough Council are one of just two councils in the south east that have not declared a climate emergency or produced a plan that takes steps to address and respond to the climate emergency.
Currently the council will not discuss declaring a climate emergency and developing an action plan until at least 1,500 residents sign a petition asking them to do so.
