Havant Borough Green Week, organised by members of our community, will be running from the 18th- 26th of September 2021. The Great Big Green Week is a national event but we want to celebrate everything people around Havant Borough are doing to improve our local environment by tackling climate change, protecting nature and reducing waste.
We also want to call for our government to do more in the lead up to COP26, vital talks on the climate in Glasgow in November.
We have a number of events arranged already including stalls in the Meridian Centre, events at the Spring, a green coffee morning organised by the Mayor of Havant and some walks, craft sessions, litter picks and talks. You can find the list so far here.
But we’re hoping local groups and businesses might set up their own community event – This could be an open day, a talk, a climate get-together, a walk, a working group to clear a site, a religious service or an event involving children. There are endless possibilities but the idea is to get a climate message across.
